Marlboro Youth Football Superbowl Game
Just as fast as the football season started this year, it finally came to an end yesterday. One of our contracted leagues, Marlboro Youth Football, had their Division 2 Black team make it to the Orange Country Youth Football Superbowl at Faller Field in Middletown New York.
Knowing how important this game was, we decided to head out to the field a little early so we could get shots of the players warming up. While walking down to the field, we couldn’t believe how many people filled the stands. It almost had the energy and feel of a high school football game!
As the Middletown versus Warwick game was coming into its final seconds, we made our way to the far side of the field to setup for the Marlboro versus Washingtonville game. While setting up, we realized that one of our friends was a coach for the Warwick team. When his team was crowned the winner, we took a few moments to grab some team shots with their new trophy!
Once the field was clear, Marlboro warmed up a bit more and before we knew it, the game was underway. Letting Washingtonville slip by with the first touchdown, Marlboro worked hard to get the scored tied – which came just a few downs later. Unfortunately, a missed field goal would let Washingtonville keep the lead.
With both sides playing hard, I found it easy to keep warm in the 50 degree air as I was continually running up and down the field to stay ahead of the action. Heading into half time, Marlboro was down by a touch down and a two point conversion. Unfortunately, they were unable to dig themselves out of the hole and ended the game with a loss. The hardest part of the day was looking at the disappointment in the faces of all the players!
Though Marlboro lost, we did get some great shots of the players in action! Check out some of the image below!
The Lady Wildcats, Red Ravens And Wildcats
This past Saturday was what has become somewhat typical this season – cold, wet and nasty. With the amount of rain we had gotten, we were sure if the High Point Soccer games were going to take place on Sunday. Thankfully, everything cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful day, so Loretta headed up to the fields for back-to-back games for the Lady Wildcats, Red Ravens and Wildcats.

Goshen Gladiators Battle Cornwall
Yesterday, we covered the Goshen Gladiators Varsity Football game against Cornwall. Unfortunately, it was not a day for Goshen – Cornwall scored their first touchdown within the first few minutes of the game with two more, back-to-back shortly after. Trying to regain some ground, the Gladiators fought back hard – which gave us some opportunities for some incredible shots!
Some of our most favorite shots include the quarterback looking almost directly into the lens of the camera as he got ready to pass the ball. A few of the others include a missed catch and an awesome tackle. Check them out below!
Minisink Youth Soccer Games
One of our largest leagues this year, Minisink Youth Soccer, has nearly 60 different teams playing back-to-back games every weekend. Each time we send out our photographers, they come back with hundreds and thousands of images that we must go through and post – which makes it tough for us when it comes time to post in the blog.
After briefly looking through some of the galleries, I picked out a couple of my favorites from games played at the Hansen Park soccer fields as well as the William Lane soccer field …
The Last Home Game For Minisink Football
Friday night at Minisink High School was one of those nights that most photographers hate – a mix of rain, mist and fog all night long!
I had to arrive at the field a little early as it was Senior Night for Minisink Valley Varsity Football. This night is special for the Seniors because it is the last time that they are going to play on their home turf before graduating. To commemorate the event, each Senior is joined by their parents on the field so we can take a picture of them together. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t make this task easy!
Even though I arrived early, the rain decided to move in just as I was getting ready to take my first shots. By the time I was done, it looked like I had dipped my camera in a bath tub! Thankfully, the Mark III can handle it!
Once I was done, practice got underway and the rain finally stopped and left behind a light mist. By this time, the field was already a mud puddle and the entire team was covered in it – yet they hadn’t even played a single down!
Once the game got underway, Minisink took an early lead with three back-to-back touchdowns and held onto the lead to finish the game against Kingston 52 to 32!
